This policy explains what information Rather ("the app," "we," "us") collects, how it's used, and the choices available to you.
Rather stores your answers, prediction history, and streaks on your own device. To power its social features — friends, Circles, shared predictions, reactions, and the activity feed — Rather uses Apple's CloudKit to sync this data through your own iCloud account.
This data is stored in your own iCloud account and shared only with the friends and Circles you choose to connect with. Rather does not run its own servers and does not have a separate copy of this data outside of Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. Apple's own privacy practices govern iCloud and CloudKit; see Apple's Privacy Policy.
If you allow notifications, Rather may send you a reminder when a new daily question is available, or to let you know about friend activity (such as a friend request or a reaction). You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Rather.
Rather offers an optional auto-renewing subscription, Rather Gold, with two tiers (Monthly and Annual) in the same subscription group. All billing is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit — Rather never sees or stores your payment or card information. Apple's own privacy practices apply to that transaction; see Apple's Privacy Policy.
Rather does not currently show ads and does not use advertising identifiers or third-party advertising SDKs. Some features (like protecting a streak or revealing friends' answers) are unlocked for free while ads aren't active. If this changes in a future update, this policy will be updated accordingly before that update is released.
Rather is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us using the details below and we will address it.
Because Rather relies on your own iCloud account rather than servers we operate, your data is retained according to your iCloud account and Apple's own CloudKit retention practices, until you remove it or delete the app.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new effective date above.
