Privacy Policy
Effective September 26, 2026
BarBeam (the "App") is a scheduling and team app for bars and restaurants, operated by LFK Entertainment ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the App collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
1. Information we collect
| What | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Account details: email address and password (stored securely, never in readable form). | To create your account and sign you in. |
| Profile: your name, and optionally a phone number and profile picture. | So coworkers and managers can tell who is who. Your picture comes from a photo you choose; the App does not access your other photos. |
| Work information: the bar or bars you belong to, your permission level and jobs, shifts, shift pickups and offered amounts, shift history, and time-off requests (including any reason you type). | This is the core of the App: building schedules, swapping shifts and approving time off. |
| Messages and posts: chat messages, reactions and announcements you send. | To deliver team chat and announcements to the people in your bar. |
| Door counter activity: taps on the guest counter, with the time and the team member who tapped. The counter records numbers only, never information about guests. | Live headcount, capacity alerts and nightly reports for managers. |
| Banned list: managers may record a name and description of a person who is not allowed in the venue, with the reason. This is entered by the venue, not by that person. | So door staff can recognize people the venue has chosen not to admit. See section 5. |
| Notifications: your notification preferences, your inbox of notifications, and a push token identifying your phone. | To send the alerts you choose (schedule changes, shift reminders, pickups, capacity, time off). |
We do not collect your location, contacts, advertising identifier, or browsing history, and the App contains no third-party advertising or analytics tools.
2. How information is used
- To provide and improve the App's features for you and your team.
- To send notifications you have turned on. You can change these at any time in Profile → Notifications, or in your phone's settings.
- To keep the service secure and to prevent abuse.
We do not use your information for advertising and we do not sell or rent it.
3. Who can see it
- People at your bar. Coworkers can see your name, picture, jobs, published shifts and messages in chats you share. Managers and General Managers can see more, such as schedule drafts, time-off requests and pickup approvals. Owners can see everything for their organization.
- BarBeam support staff. To set up your bar, fix problems and answer support requests, authorized BarBeam staff may view, and where needed correct, your organization's information. Access is limited to what the support task needs, is time-limited, and is recorded in our internal logs.
- Service providers that run the App for us, only as needed to operate it: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Expo (delivering push notifications), and Apple (app distribution and the Apple Push Notification service).
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect people's safety.
4. Keeping information
We keep your information while your account is active. Notifications older than 60 days and reminder records older than 30 days are deleted automatically. When you delete your account (section 6), your sign-in, profile, profile picture, chat messages, memberships, time-off requests, notifications and phone tokens are removed. Shifts you were working become open shifts. Records that belong to the bar itself, such as past schedules, announcements and door counts, may remain so the venue's history stays complete, but they are no longer linked to your account or name. If you are the only Owner of an organization you will be asked to make another Owner first, so the venue is not left without anyone in charge.
5. Information about other people
Bar managers decide what they enter into the App, including names and descriptions on a banned list. The venue is responsible for having a legitimate reason and for following the laws that apply to it. If you are on a banned list and want to ask about your record, contact the venue directly. You can also contact us at the email below and we will pass your request to the venue and help where we can.
6. Your choices and rights
- Delete your account. In the App go to Profile and choose Delete my account. You can also email us from the address on your account and we will delete it for you.
- See or correct your information. Edit your name, phone and picture in Profile, or ask us for a copy of your information.
- Notifications. Turn any kind off in Profile → Notifications.
Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have additional rights to know, delete, or correct your personal information. Contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
7. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access rules that limit each person to what their role allows. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you think your account has been misused.
8. Children
BarBeam is for workplace use by adults. It is not directed to children, and you must be at least 18 to create an account. If you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will tell you in the App.
